A respected law firm, located in San Pedro, CA, is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic team. This firm specializes in large exposure insurance defense cases, focusing on premises and automobile liability. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in handling high-stakes cases with the potential for trial. Remote work options are available for qualified applicants.

Duties:

• Manage general casualty insurance defense cases, with a focus on premises and automobile liability.
• Handle cases with significant exposure and the possibility of proceeding to trial.
• Report to insurance carriers regarding case status and developments.
• Take and defend depositions, both lay and expert witnesses.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive case files and legal documents for trials and hearings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense.
• Proven ability to handle large exposure cases, particularly in the areas of premises and automobile liability.
• Strong experience with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Experience working with insurance carriers and managing case reporting.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (Required).

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
