Director of Industry Contracts and Commercialization

The candidate will play a critical role in enhancing company’s research infrastructure, developing industry research partnerships and protecting new innovations. Provide overall responsibility for advancing industry partnerships and executing appropriate agreements. This includes working with faculty in appropriate schools/colleges to develop industry partnerships and administrative units (i.e., Sponsored Projects Services and Legal Affairs) to negotiate and execute appropriate agreements including research, service, MTAs, NDAs, Data Use, Facility Use, etc.. Provide overall responsibility for Intellectual Property management and commercialization. This includes working with faculty on understanding the commercialization process, handling disclosures, working with Legal Affairs on patent filing, managing the IP Committee, and looking for opportunities for licensing with outside partners. Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive education, training and outreach programs for research active faculty, administrators, academic personnel, staff and students to ensure proper adherence with regulatory requirements and current best practices for industry research and commercialization. Prepare and submit reports as needed for external and internal purposes. Perform other duties as assigned in collaboration with the Vice President for Research.
