Ideal candidates are Florida-licensed attorneys with excellent legal writing ability and an interest in or experience with education law. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to handle assignments independently are key.
Key Responsibilities
Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and appellate briefs.
Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare detailed memoranda.
Assist with case strategy, hearing preparation, and client communications.
Provide litigation support for special education due process hearings, disciplinary hearings, and federal/state court matters.
Manage assigned projects on a deadline-driven basis with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Active Florida Bar license required.
Strong legal research and writing skills (law review, clerkship, or published writing is a plus).
Litigation, administrative law, or education law experience preferred.
Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
2+ years of practice experience preferred, though newer attorneys with excellent credentials will be considered.
Compensation & Structure
Position begins as contract / hourly, project-based work.
Potential for expanded, long-term Of Counsel or Associate role based on performance and fit.
Flexible arrangements available; volume of work may increase as the firm continues to grow.
