Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Special Counsel to join its Washington, DC office. This senior-level role focuses on business and family-based immigration matters, advising both employers and individuals on a wide range of immigration issues and regulatory compliance.

Duties

• Represent clients in employment-based and family-based immigration matters
• Prepare and file immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, including investment visas
• Handle consular processing and naturalization applications
• Advise employers on immigration compliance and labor regulations
• Represent clients before government agencies including USCIS, DOL, ICE, and the Department of State
• Draft legal documents and communicate directly with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• Significant law firm experience in business and family-based immigration
• Experience representing both employers and foreign nationals
• Familiarity with immigration processes, visa petitions, and compliance requirements
• Strong work ethic and ability to interact directly with clients and partners
• Fluency in Spanish and English preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the District of Columbia Bar or ability to obtain admission
