Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation & Appellate Support Attorney and Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team in Miami, Florida. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with strong backgrounds in civil litigation, appellate work, and workers' compensation law. The successful candidates will play key roles in supporting litigation efforts, providing strategic counsel, and handling a variety of legal matters in both trial and appellate courts.

Duties:

  • Draft compelling appellate briefs and writ petitions across a range of legal practices.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on complex appellate issues.
  • Review trial court records and transcripts to identify potential errors for appeals.
  • Provide essential litigation support, including preparing pretrial motions, conducting legal research, reviewing documents, and assisting with trial preparation.
  • Represent the firm in oral arguments for appeals and motions before both state and federal appellate courts.
  • Collaborate with trial teams to develop and refine case strategies for appellate cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in appellate litigation or workers' compensation law.
  • Ability to handle multiple litigation and appellate matters at once.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Expertise in appellate procedures and case law.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills, including experience with oral arguments.
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple cases simultaneously and manage deadlines.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset for working with other attorneys and support staff.
  • Comprehensive understanding of workers' compensation law (for the relevant role).
