Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in the Greater Los Angeles Area is actively seeking a passionate and experienced Associate Immigration Attorney to join its expanding team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a seasoned group of attorneys and legal professionals handling a range of complex immigration matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients before immigration courts and agencies, developing legal strategies, and maintaining a robust caseload with significant autonomy and team collaboration.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, California

Duties:

  • Provide strategic consultations and explain immigration legal concepts to clients

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Prepare and manage a full range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions, waivers, and humanitarian forms

  • Conduct client intake, including visits with detained individuals

  • Review and finalize immigration application packets

  • Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for a variety of case types

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS and court testimony

  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration matters

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure thorough and timely case handling

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1–4 years of experience in immigration law

  • Proven ability to handle a full caseload independently

  • Experience working with detained individuals preferred

  • Familiarity with USCIS, EOIR, and BIA procedures

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction (California preferred)

Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Skilled in legal writing and legal research

  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, Detained Defense, and Naturalization

  • Proficiency in immigration case management software (preferred)

  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced, client-centered environment
