A leading global law firm is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to provide strategic risk-based counseling on global employment law matters. This position involves collaborating closely with business leaders, HR professionals, and legal teams across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on a variety of employment-related issues, including recruiting, hiring, benefits, compensation, performance management, and workplace-related grievances. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in employment law counseling and litigation, including in-house experience at a multinational law firm or corporation.

Serve as a primary resource for business leaders and HR professionals on multi-jurisdictional employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, performance management, and termination
Provide legal support for the development of workplace policies and processes regarding compensation, benefits, conduct, discipline, and performance
Draft key employee and partner agreements, including offer letters, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, partnership agreements, and other related documents
Provide counsel on global workplace-related grievances, pre-litigation claims, and litigation, including investigations, risk assessments, issue resolution, and proactive issue prevention
Select and manage relevant outside counsel, ensuring results are obtained within budgetary guidelines
Collaborate with professionals across the firm to utilize their expertise when needed
Identify and implement process improvements in line with firm strategy, market factors, and best practices
Stay current on legal issues affecting the firm through continuing legal education and bar/professional association memberships
J.D. from an accredited institution
Admission to the state bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Minimum of 10 years of legal practice experience in employment counseling and litigation
Extensive experience with U.S. employment laws and regulations, including related claims and litigation
In-house experience at a multi-national law firm or corporation is beneficial
Experience conducting and supervising internal investigations related to employment matters, including managing electronic discovery
Proven ability to draft various workplace agreements and policies
Experience managing litigation, including overseeing outside counsel
Leadership skills and experience managing projects and teams
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
Admission to the state bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Extensive knowledge of U.S. employment laws
Strong legal writing and drafting skills
Proven experience in investigations and electronic discovery
Litigation management and oversight of outside counsel
Project management and organizational skills
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Ability to build strong relationships across teams and departments
Ability to work effectively under pressure
