Job Overview:
A prominent law firm, located in Richmond, VA, is seeking a motivated Career Associate Attorney to join its Insurance and Reinsurance Litigation practice group. This role involves handling complex insurance coverage and commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in insurance coverage issues related to professional liability, general liability, and directors' and officers' insurance policies. Applicants should be driven, able to work independently, and thrive in a team-based environment.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload involving insurance coverage disputes and commercial litigation.
• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, focusing on professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations on complex insurance matters.
• Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trial preparations.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.
• Stay current on developments in insurance and reinsurance law and apply this knowledge to cases.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
• Strong experience in handling complex insurance coverage issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with a team.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of legal work.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and good standing membership in the State Bar of Virginia.
