Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Landlord-Tenant Associate Attorney for its New York, NY office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience representing landlords in residential and commercial matters before New York City Housing Courts and New York State Supreme Courts. This role offers the opportunity to expand practice within the real estate group.

Duties

• Handle appearances on non-payment and holdover cases at all stages.
• Represent landlords before city and state housing agencies and municipal courts for building and code violations.
• Draft motions, orders to show cause, and briefs in support of real estate litigation matters.

Requirements

• Superior academic credentials.
• Excellent research skills.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Experience with affordable housing, Mitchell-Lama cooperatives, and HDFC is a plus.
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Education

• J.D. degree required.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
