A well-established law firm in Melville, NY, is seeking a Litigation Associate with proven experience in civil defense matters. This position focuses on medical and hospital malpractice, construction-related claims, and general tort liability. Duties:

• Advocate for clients in state courts and before administrative or regulatory bodies

• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and case status reports

• Conduct depositions of parties and witnesses

• Perform legal and medical research to support the defense strategy

• Engage in motion practice and oral arguments

• Manage case files from intake to resolution

• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to formulate litigation strategies

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil litigation (medical malpractice background preferred)

• Demonstrated ability to handle cases independently and within deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active member of the New York State Bar
