A well-established Midwest-based litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Milwaukee, WI office. This position offers a dynamic environment for a mid-level attorney (3–7 years of experience) to work independently and collaboratively on a broad range of civil litigation matters. The role involves significant case responsibility, client interaction, and courtroom exposure in both state and federal courts.

Location

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery documents

• Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and status reports

• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

• Manage written discovery and document review

• Participate in mediations, pre-trial conferences, and court appearances

• Interact directly with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel

• Handle a substantive caseload with minimal supervision

Requirements

• 3–7 years of legal experience in any area of law, preferably civil litigation

• Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team

• Excellent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Wisconsin

• Member in good standing with the Wisconsin Bar

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to manage complex legal matters and meet deadlines
