The position involves working with high-profile clients in the renewable energy sector and handling complex transactions related to the development, acquisition, and financing of energy projects. Location

Duties

• Represent sponsors, developers, and financing parties in connection with renewable energy transactions

• Draft and negotiate key legal documents related to project development and operation, including:

  • EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Agreements

  • Supply Agreements

  • Offtake Agreements

  • O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Agreements

• Advise on M&A and financing arrangements, including:

  • Debt financing documentation

  • Tax equity financing

  • Ancillary transactional agreements

• Maintain ongoing client communication and collaborate with third-party advisors

• Take ownership of projects while contributing legal insight at all stages of the deal lifecycle

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the energy industry

• Experience gained at a large national law firm or equivalent in-house counsel role

• Familiarity with the legal aspects of renewable energy project development, M&A, and financing

• Ability to independently manage complex transactions and deadlines

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top-tier, accredited law school

Certifications

• Active member in good standing with the bar of the state in which the candidate resides

• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and financing contracts

• Strong analytical, research, and writing abilities

• Effective communicator with both internal teams and external stakeholders
