Government Affairs Manager
The candidate will assess and map stakeholders and influencers in light of strategies. Have, maintain, and communicate internally a deep and practical understanding of federal and state legislation and regulations and connect these to opportunities for our business interests, with a focus on ESG and innovation and assisting leadership with developing appropriate business strategies. Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with Members of Congress and their key staff, the Administration, industry peers, and trade associations to build trust, mitigate potential obstacles, convey the company's priorities, and impact key public policy objectives. Develop, in partnership with company leadership and business unit partners, the company's government relations and public policy strategy and agenda as it relates to the company’s strategy and helps prioritize actions and resources. Ensure has insights into the direction of legislative and regulatory developments so that the company meets its sustainability goals and ensures compliance with climate-related requirements. Represent Government Affairs with the NA Sustainability Council and other related projects and workstreams. Demonstrating knowledge of the legislative and regulatory landscape, recommend and influence commercial strategies. Develop and maintain relationships with outside government relations consultants and advisors and manage those relationships. Develop a government affairs strategy for the North American region, with a focus on the United States. Map and analyze US federal and state political and regulatory environment to support the government affairs strategy. Work closely with government stakeholders and others who have influence, (associations and key businesses, and NGOs) to ensure we are always maintaining and building on the outstanding working relationships we have with the industries and environments in which we operate. Support the development of policy positions, strategies, and execution of tactics to influence state and federal legislative activity that are strategic. Develop ideas for regulatory or legislative initiatives that may benefit the company. Represent in organizations and events, identifying suitable opportunities for the leadership team to participate. Carry out risk analyses to make improvements where needed.
