Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Employment Litigation team in Stamford. This position is ideal for an attorney with 6 years of experience in employment defense litigation. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients and handle litigation matters from inception through resolution, including court appearances, depositions, and client advisory work. This is a hybrid position offering both in-office and remote flexibility, along with clear opportunities for growth and advancement.

Duties

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
  • Represent employers in employment-related litigation before courts and administrative agencies
  • Draft and review pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and legal briefs
  • Analyze employment records and documentation
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on employment law issues
  • Participate in depositions, court hearings, trials, and conferences
  • Interact with clients to provide strategic guidance and litigation updates
  • Engage with employment experts and support trial preparation efforts

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in employment litigation
  • Prior experience representing employers in defense matters preferred
  • Comfortable handling all aspects of litigation with minimal supervision

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of CT

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and courtroom advocacy abilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing matters
