Job Overview:
A law firm based in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage practice. This role offers the opportunity for significant case-handling responsibilities and direct client interaction. The successful candidate will have a strong background in insurance coverage law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload as the lead attorney. The firm offers a hybrid work schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Duties:

• Handle insurance coverage cases, providing legal counsel and support to clients.
• Manage a diverse caseload, acting as the lead attorney on cases.
• Engage in direct client communication, offering strategic advice and case updates.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys for guidance, mentorship, and training.
• Develop and implement legal strategies for clients within the insurance sector.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and court proceedings as needed.
• Maintain accurate case files and documents.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of prior experience in insurance coverage law.
• Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Membership in the South Carolina Bar (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time).
• The high degree of motivation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the South Carolina Bar (or eligibility to obtain).

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
• Experience with insurance coverage litigation.
• Exceptional time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all legal documents.
