The candidate will focus on cutting edge music licensing, policy development, content-creation and distribution, and related transactions for company's products. Will manage, draft, and analyze a wide variety of music and video content licensing and distribution agreements for company's growing digital media business, as well as analyze and advise on legal issues relating to the use of music across the entire spectrum of company products around the world for deals and for policy development. Draft and review music and video content licensing agreements with content creators, distributors, record labels, music publishers and publishing collecting societies across all products. Advise product team clients, as well as finance and other company departments on legal issues and risks, regulatory matters, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, intellectual property and agreement strategy. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes. Respond promptly to legal requests from business development, sales, licensing, product, marketing and other business clients. Should have a J.D. or equivalent degree. Must have 7 years of relevant attorney experience. Should have experience with commercial agreements, digital music licensing agreements, and support of multi-territorial licensing entities. People management experience, or non-people management leadership experience, is desired. Must be admitted to the CA Bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in CA.
