Sales and Use Tax Senior Manager

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or another relevant field required. Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation or J.D. preferred. Eight+ years of prior experience in state and local/multistate experience required. Significant business development and marketing of sales and use tax engagements experience required. Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis is required. Prior experience preparing and/or reviewing tax provisions is preferred. CPA certification or other relevant certification is preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word preferred. Exposure to and familiarity with standard tax applications and research tools preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Should have superior analytical and research skills. Solid organizational skills especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details; ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment. Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Capable of effective managing a team of tax professionals and delegating work assignments as needed; capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel; ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel; executive presence and ability to act as the primary contact on assigned engagements; ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels; advanced knowledge of the appropriate application of tax standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of sales and use of tax services; advanced knowledge of sources of relevant information utilized in sales and use tax filings; advanced knowledge and understanding of cause/effect for taxable conditions on clients and the potential sales and use tax issues.
