A prominent law firm in Albany, NY is seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney with 2–4 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. This is a hybrid position offering a highly competitive salary and bonus structure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acquisitions, leases, financing, and development projects, and will play a key role in complex public and private sector real estate matters across New York State.

Duties

• Represent clients in real estate acquisitions, sales, leases, and financings

• Draft and negotiate development agreements, ground leases, loan and security documents, and construction contracts

• Conduct title and survey reviews and manage related due diligence

• Work with clients in the private and public sectors on mixed-use, affordable housing, and commercial real estate projects

• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on high-value transactions

• Assist in matters involving tax incentives, municipal approvals, and regulatory compliance

• Prepare legal opinions, offering plans, and related transactional documents

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant real estate transactional experience

• Bar admission in New York required

• Demonstrated experience with commercial and residential transactions, debt and equity deals, lease drafting, and legal due diligence

• Familiarity with title, survey, and opinion letters

• Strong legal writing and client communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Bachelor’s degree required

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing)

Skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills

• Proficient in legal research and transactional analysis

• Team-oriented with excellent time management

• Knowledge of tax credit structures such as LIHTC, NMTC, HTC, or Brownfields is a plus

• Experience with construction loans and economic development incentives is preferred
