A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney in the United States who is passionate about immigration law. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys legal analysis, case strategy, and high-quality advocacy while working alongside a mission-driven team focused on changing lives.

Duties

  • Review immigration cases and confirm legal strategies before final attorney review.
  • Analyze consultation notes, case records, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Draft and review petitions, motions, briefs, appeals, and other legal filings.
  • Identify legal issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities to strengthen cases.
  • Represent clients before USCIS and in removal proceedings as needed.
  • Meet with clients to answer questions and provide case guidance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure efficient case progression and exceptional client service.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar License in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian-based immigration law.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, naturalization, VAWA, U Visas, and T Visas.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Spanish fluency is required.
  • Experience using immigration case management software such as MyCase.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel for hearings, USCIS interviews, and detention center visits as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar License in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.

  • Spanish fluency.
  • Experience with immigration case management software.
