A law firm in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in prosecuting and/or defending construction claims, contract drafting and negotiation, and evaluating risks in the construction industry. Candidates with experience in insurance, commercial law, products liability, or general litigation are encouraged to apply, provided they have a keen interest in focusing on legal practice within the construction sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and litigate construction claims, representing clients in various forums including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements.
• Provide counsel to clients on construction-related legal issues, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research on construction law matters and prepare legal memoranda.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex construction projects and disputes.
• Advise clients on compliance with construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Participate in client consultations and effectively communicate legal strategies and advice.
• Assist in business development activities, including client presentations and relationship management.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Alabama State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
• 2+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on claims, contracts, and risk evaluation.
• Experience in insurance, commercial litigation, products liability, or related fields is beneficial.
• Superior academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
