Legal Recruiting and Professional Development Coordinator/Manager
The candidate will handle all attorney, technical advisor and patent agent hiring and retention as well as professional development and continuing education programs for firm legal staff. Compensation commensurate with experience. Organize and prepare summer associate materials. Plan and attend all summer program events. Prepare and send out pre-arrival survey. Arrange orientation travel for non-Houston Summer Associates and Interns. Prepare and send pre-arrival email with orientation logistics. Create invitations for all summer program events and send them out as calendar appointments to all invitees. Serve as point of contact for incoming summer associates and interns. Maintain the accuracy of all recruiting files in firm recruiting database (LawCruit). Update interview and application statuses for all lateral and summer associate candidates. Serve as point of contact for law school administrators and fall on campus interview coordinators. Register for all on campus interview programs and select applicants for interviews. Arrange travel for attorneys attending all programs. Gather and prepare interview binders complete with travel confirmations, interview schedules, resumes, transcripts and evaluation forms. Attend interview programs. Fall Recruiting/Callbacks. Coordinate call-back interviews in office for all summer associate candidates. Coordinate travel logistics for out of town summer associate candidates. Create interview schedules for all candidates based off of attorney availability. Assist in the coordination of the annual Holiday Party including creating and sending out the save the date and formal invitation, securing a venue, making food choices, ordering flowers, arranging the raffle and purchasing Uber rides for all attendees. Coordinate attorney headshots on first day and Coordinate the creation of attorney bios with Reputation Ink. Develop and maintain firm-wide skill curriculum. Develop Associate Track for each class year. Serve as mentor to Associates, Patent Agents and Technical Advisors. Oversee firm-wide Training Budget. Track Associate Benchmarks for use in Annual Reviews. Coordinate Monthly Firm CLE luncheons. Prepare and send out welcome announcements for all new hires. Prepare and send out internal communication about firm announcements (including, but not limited to the following: monthly birthday and anniversary announcements, Administrative Professionals Week, holiday contests, luncheons, the chili cook-off, firm community outreach opportunities). Order all catered food for welcome breakfasts, monthly CLE lunches and various meetings throughout the year. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or any related field, or a combination of education and experience is preferred. Should have 4+ years of experience handling law firm recruiting and professional development.
