Job Overview:
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Corporate Aviation Of Counsel to join its Business and Transactions practice group. This role requires over 10 years of experience managing sophisticated corporate aviation transactions for clients such as commercial airlines, leasing entities, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience advising independently on complex matters involving aircraft acquisition, financing, tax planning, FAA compliance, and operational structuring.

Duties:
Serve as lead counsel on corporate aviation transactions involving purchase, sale, lease, and financing of aircraft
Advise on FAA regulatory matters and operational structuring for aircraft owners and operators
Counsel clients on federal, state, and local tax implications of aircraft ownership and use
Manage contracts involving aircraft maintenance, completion, and customization
Represent diverse aviation clients, including:
U.S. and foreign commercial airlines
Private and corporate aircraft owners
High-net-worth individuals
Leasing companies and banks
Manufacturers and aviation service providers
Provide legal solutions for a wide range of aviation-related operational issues
Maintain and grow client relationships independently
Contribute to business development and client retention efforts
Requirements:
10+ years of relevant experience in corporate aviation law
Ability to independently manage transactions and client relationships
Strong familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation tax structures
Experience with a broad range of aircraft types, including general aviation and VIP configurations
Active law license in the state corresponding to the desired office location
Portable book of business or client contacts is a plus
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active and good standing membership in the bar of the selected office’s jurisdiction
Skills:
Expertise in corporate aviation law and complex transactions
Strong contract negotiation and drafting ability
Strategic thinking and business acumen
High-level client service and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage multifaceted legal issues across jurisdictions
Collaborative approach to legal problem-solving and deal execution
