Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney with 3-6 or more years of experience in handling habitability and/or premises liability matters to join their civil litigation defense team in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and must be licensed to practice in California.

Duties

• Coordinate with clients and co-counsel during all phases of discovery.
• Manage all facets of cases from discovery through trial.
• Organize and maintain case files; coordinate with secretaries and other staff.
• Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare responses.
• Supervise document reviews with legal team, clients, and vendors.
• Assist with document reviews for responsiveness and privilege.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
• Prepare standard court filings.
• Keep accurate time records for client fees.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor Degree.
• Active license and good standing with California State Bar.
• Experience in handling habitability and/or premises liability matters.
• Strong, concise communication and writing skills.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Experience in reporting to insurance carriers preferred.
• Experience in preparing/drafting/arguing demurrers, motions to strike, and motions for summary adjudication/judgment preferred.
• Familiarity with written and oral discovery is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor Degree.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar license.
