Benefits Coordinator

The candidate will provide backup to the HR Coordinator on all leave of absence requests and disability programs with employees and leave management vendor. Coordinate and assist with Open Enrollment by preparing materials, responding to questions and requests for information. Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits issues and questions (i.e. new hire enrollment, life events); including liaising with third party administrator for claims questions. Download benefits reports from HRIS system for vendor census reporting. Document and update processes for all benefits administration. Handle Flexible Spending Plans and Health Savings accounts. Assist HR Assistant with wellness initiatives and programs including budgeting, planning and organizing events. Work with HR Assistant to design and coordinate information and campaigns for benefit related seminars. Conduct benefits orientation and explain benefits self-enrollment system for new employees as part of onboarding. Participate in regularly scheduled benefits data audits in HRIS system. Update Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) with guidance from Director of Benefits. Work with HR Assistant to coordinate flu shot programs on an annual basis. Assist with maintenance and management of data for retirement plans (401k) including employee inquiries regarding account information. Review the benefits mailbox to provide guidance to employees regarding benefits issues and questions; including liaising with third party administrator for claims questions. Liaise with payroll on benefit changes/adjustments for late enrollments. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Should have 3-5 years of Benefits/HR experience. Prior experience using HRIS systems (UltiPro) is a plus. Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations e.g., ERISA, DOL, IRS, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Healthcare Reform, ACA, Section 125 and 401(k) is preferred.
