A law firm seeks an Immigration Litigation Attorney to join their team in Newark, NJ. This full-time, hybrid role involves federal district court litigation of immigration cases, including habeas corpus petitions and lawsuits for injunctive relief. The attorney will also handle appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis for immigration law cases.
• Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence with precision.
• Provide effective guidance and support to clients throughout the immigration process.
• Lead and manage multiple case files with strong organizational skills.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance legal strategies and case outcomes.
• Stay updated on evolving immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Active bar membership.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration litigation in federal district court.
• Experience in immigration law or federal litigation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research using legal platforms.
• Willingness to travel within the United States for court hearings or conferences.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.

Skills

• Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages preferred.
• Additional experience in specific immigration law specialties is advantageous.
