Job Overview:
A respected and nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in North Carolina. The firm is dedicated to personal injury advocacy and provides a supportive, growth-oriented environment. The position may be based in either Wilmington or Charlotte, with remote or hybrid arrangements considered for qualified candidates. This role involves oversight of case management, negotiation, strategy development, and client interaction—all aimed at delivering exceptional outcomes for injured clients.
Location:
Wilmington, North Carolina
Duties:
Oversee medical treatment and case progression managed by case managers
Evaluate case value and engage subject matter experts as needed
Negotiate and resolve pre-litigation personal injury claims
Refer cases to litigation when necessary and assist litigation team as appropriate
Maintain frequent and professional communication with clients
Collaborate with firm leadership to develop and execute negotiation strategies
Mentor and provide guidance to case managers and other team members
Support the firm with high-complexity or exceptional cases as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience handling personal injury matters
Strong case evaluation, negotiation, and resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment
Commitment to high professional and ethical standards
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in North Carolina (required)
Membership in the South Carolina Bar is a plus
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Legal research and persuasive writing proficiency
Public speaking and client presentation capabilities
Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency
Familiarity with Needles Neos Case Management Software is a plus
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
