A respected mid-sized law firm is seeking a Tax Attorney to join its growing practice in Virginia Beach. Location:

• Virginia Beach, Virginia

Duties:

• Conduct legal research on complex federal, state, and local tax issues

• Advise clients on tax implications related to business transactions and estate planning

• Develop and implement strategic tax planning approaches to minimize tax liability

• Draft and review tax-related legal documents including:

  • Tax returns

  • Settlement agreements

  • Corporate and partnership filings

• Represent clients in audits, administrative proceedings, and tax litigation

• Stay current on legislative and regulatory tax law developments

• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver integrated legal solutions

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of tax law experience

• Prior experience representing clients before tax authorities is preferred

• Strong grasp of tax regulations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions

• Client-focused with a demonstrated ability to deliver strategic legal advice

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Skills:

• Strong legal research and drafting capabilities

• In-depth knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and tax compliance standards

• Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly

• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented

• Collaborative approach to working with clients and cross-functional legal teams
