Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented legal professional to join its immigration practice group. This hybrid role involves direct interaction with clients, preparation of case filings, and representation in administrative proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, be highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation for individuals and businesses navigating U.S. immigration processes

  • Draft and revise visa petitions, supporting documentation, and legal arguments

  • Offer clear, concise explanations of immigration laws and available legal options to clients

  • Research and compose legal briefs in support of case strategies

  • Interview clients and collect information and documentation for various immigration matters

  • Utilize digital platforms and case tracking systems to manage progress and ensure all legal deadlines are met

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in all legal documentation and client communications

  • Accompany clients to USCIS interviews and hearings as needed

  • Support other team members and leadership with case work and internal initiatives

  • Travel occasionally for client representation in Sacramento and San Francisco County

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in U.S. immigration law

  • Strong understanding of visa classifications and procedures

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple cases

  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a legal team

  • Comfort with remote communication tools and legal practice software

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with a U.S. State Bar (California Bar preferred)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in document preparation and legal drafting

  • Experience using immigration case management software (e.g., INSZoom, LawLogix, or similar)

  • Fluency in a second language (preferred but not required)
