Duties

• Manage a caseload of medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution

• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence

• Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses and litigation strategies

• Appear for court conferences, depositions, and motion arguments

• Work closely with partners and senior attorneys to support trial preparation

• Communicate effectively with clients, medical professionals, and experts

• Assist in negotiations, settlements, and client advisement on litigation risks

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant litigation experience

• Prior experience with medical malpractice or healthcare-related defense strongly preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active files simultaneously

• Client-facing experience and courtroom exposure are beneficial

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in the State of New York

• In good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Excellent written and oral communication abilities

• Comfortable handling depositions, court appearances, and motion practice

• Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
