Job Overview:

A prominent law firm located in New York City, NY, seeks a litigation associate with 1-2 years of post-JD experience to contribute to a versatile litigation team. This opportunity involves working across multiple practice areas, including commercial disputes, employment issues, and intellectual property matters such as trademark litigation. The associate will be engaged in all stages of litigation, from initial pleadings through trial and appellate proceedings, and will have direct client contact and courtroom exposure.

Duties:

• Assist with case strategy development for a diverse litigation docket

• Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, and appellate briefs

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis

• Handle aspects of written and oral discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Participate in and support depositions and witness preparation

• Appear in court for motion hearings and other proceedings

• Contribute to trial preparation and assist in trial and arbitration proceedings

• Support settlement negotiations and mediation sessions

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of litigation experience, judicial clerkship, or a mix of both

• Demonstrated interest in hands-on litigation involving complex commercial and intellectual property issues

• Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility for prompt admission

• Strong legal writing and analytical skills

• Effective verbal communication and courtroom presence

• Comfort handling responsibilities in high-stakes legal environments

• Additional admission in New Jersey or Massachusetts is advantageous

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active New York State Bar license (or pending admission)

• Other state admissions are considered a plus
