Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm, located in Louisville, KY, is looking to expand its General Liability Practice Group. The firm is seeking a motivated, skilled Associate Attorney to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for Kentucky-licensed attorneys with 3-10 years of experience in General Liability defense, including expertise in auto, premises liability, and professional lines such as medical malpractice and assisted living/long-term care. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the chance to work on a wide variety of general liability cases, representing clients in court, and handling all aspects of the legal process from claim initiation to trial and appeals.

Duties:

• Review and prepare medical records summaries for client representation.
• Draft and file motions; represent clients in hearings and court appearances.
• Prepare clients for and attend depositions.
• Draft initial and interim reports, and pre-trial documents, and handle trial and appellate activities.
• Respond to discovery requests and create discovery-related motions.
• Regularly appear in court to advocate for clients.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to practice law in Kentucky.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent research skills and proficiency in legal writing.
• Ability to draft and respond to discovery motions.
• Regular availability for court appearances.
• Skilled in taking and defending depositions of witnesses.
• Drafting motions for summary judgment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the Kentucky State Bar.

Skills:

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues with a strategic approach.
• Proficient in legal research and case preparation.
• Strong advocacy skills in litigation and client defense.
