A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks an experienced Renewable Energy Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their energy and natural resources strategic business unit. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy real estate transactions, with expertise in wind, solar, and/or battery storage projects. They should be capable of leading scopes of work within a team and overseeing junior attorneys. Superior academic credentials, a commitment to the community, and excellent interpersonal skills are crucial. The candidate must have an active Bar license or commit to obtaining one promptly.

Duties:

• Collaborate primarily with attorneys in the energy and natural resources strategic business unit.
• Handle wind, solar, and/or battery storage real estate transactions.
• Lead scopes of work within a team and oversee junior attorneys.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide legal advice.
• Participate in negotiations and due diligence processes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in renewable energy real estate.
• Experience with wind, solar, and/or battery storage real estate transactions.
• Superior academic credentials.
• Active IL Bar license or commitment to obtaining one promptly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to the community and environmental sustainability.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active IL Bar license or commitment to obtaining one promptly.
