A law firm seeks an experienced public finance attorney to join its well-established practice in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have a background in serving as bond counsel or issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt finance or possess experience with tax credits and municipal law. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile public finance projects, contributing to a nationally recognized practice.

Duties:

  • Serve as bond counsel or issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt financing transactions.
  • Advise clients on matters related to municipal finance, including public offerings and private placements of debt.
  • Provide legal counsel on tax credit financing, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with public entities, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate complex public finance transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate bond documents, legal opinions, and disclosure materials.
  • Stay current on relevant municipal finance laws, tax regulations, and other legal developments.
  • Work closely with clients to structure transactions and provide strategic advice on financing projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience as bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, or in tax-exempt finance, tax credits, or municipal law.
  • Strong understanding of public finance laws, municipal bond regulations, and tax credit structures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple public finance projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for working with clients, financial institutions, and public entities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Arizona, in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in public finance and municipal law.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing complex financial documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
