A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Attorney in Metairie, LA. The firm is expanding its employment law practice and requires a skilled attorney to provide legal guidance to employers, draft and review employment policies, and represent businesses in employment disputes.

Duties

• Provide day-to-day employment law advice and support.
• Draft severance agreements, termination documents, and performance improvement plans.
• Revise employment handbooks, policies, and procedures.
• Defend nationwide employment litigation cases.
• Handle regulatory complaints from federal, state, and local agencies.
• Conduct wage and hour compliance audits.
• Review affirmative action compliance and correct pay equity issues.
• Draft and enforce arbitration and non-compete agreements.
• Analyze employment practices for discriminatory impact.
• Conduct training on employment law compliance.
• Perform due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
• Advise on WARN Act compliance for layoffs.
• Conduct Form I-9 audits and training.

Requirements

• JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Top 50% of law school class, law review, or moot court experience.
• Employment law experience preferred; insurance coverage experience helpful.
• Licensure in multiple states and federal court admissions helpful.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Comfortable in a paperless environment.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills.
• Independent and highly motivated.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Education

• JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Licensure in multiple states preferred.
