A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced family law attorney to join its Family Law Practice Group in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in divorce, custody, and support matters. The ideal candidate will have experience handling cases from initial intake through trial and be motivated to collaborate with a team on larger cases while also developing a client base. Experience in the five-county area is a plus.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support cases.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients throughout the entire process, from initial consultation to trial and settlement.
  • Draft and file legal documents, such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex or large cases while also maintaining an independent practice.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring excellent communication and client satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in family law regulations and legal precedents.
  • Guide clients on legal strategies and options, including negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolution methods.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in family law, including divorce, custody, and support matters.
  • Proven ability to handle cases independently and see them through to completion, including trial.
  • Motivated to work collaboratively on larger cases while developing and managing a caseload.
  • Familiarity with the five-county area is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and litigation abilities.
  • Ability to empathize with clients while providing clear, professional legal advice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law, including divorce, child custody, and support cases.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience handling cases in both collaborative and adversarial settings.
