Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Omaha, NE is currently seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to handle a diverse range of civil matters, with a particular emphasis on personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in courtroom advocacy, case management, and legal analysis, and will be ready to take a lead role in managing cases from intake through resolution.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, particularly in personal injury disputes

• Conduct all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents

• Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses

• Manage and maintain case files and calendaring deadlines

• Develop a case strategy and advise clients throughout the litigation process

• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations

• Stay current with relevant laws and regulations in Nebraska and Iowa

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in civil litigation

• Prior exposure to personal injury litigation is strongly preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities

• Effective case and time management abilities

• Licensed and in good standing in Nebraska and/or Iowa

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Nebraska and/or Iowa

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research and drafting

• Clear and persuasive courtroom communication

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

• Attention to detail and sound judgment under pressure

• Proficiency in legal practice management tools and Microsoft Office
