GSP- Business Risk Senior Officer - Director
the candidate will develop an understanding of the regulatory issues and risks facing the GSP business and understand the tools available to monitor, track and report on them. Understand applicable Citi policies and procedures and how they apply to GSP businesses, including Front Office supervisory obligations. Work closely with the Business, Middle Office, Operations, as well as Legal, Compliance, Finance and Risk to design, enhance and monitor a consistent control framework. Project manage GSP remediation efforts, including corrective actions resulting from audit findings, regulatory examinations, regulatory consent order implementation and other significant projects or tasks involving GSP; manage and prioritize deliverables across multiple businesses and stakeholders. Oversee team members on a project basis in several locations. Drive standardized and consistent mechanisms to evidence controls and supervision, and ensure alignment with firm-wide initiatives. Identify and escalate material risk and control issues within GSP that need to be addressed. Challenge current practices which are not fully aligned with the firm’s standards; propose system and process enhancements to improve monitoring of control matters. Track and communicate progress to GSP leadership and stakeholders, including presentations in governance meetings. Minimum of 10 years of experience in audit, legal, compliance, project management or control function at a financial institution, law firm or consulting firm. Familiarity with broker-dealer and bank products and services; prior experience with credit, municipal or securitized products is a plus. Strong project management and change management skills. Experience with designing and/or monitoring key controls. Competence leading in dynamic, challenging environments while providing creative solutions; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong power of influence and negotiation skills; ability to gain consensus among staff and drive initiatives to completion effectively. Articulate and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with a proactive approach. Ability to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external management. Ability to learn quickly, handle simultaneous requests and projects, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Ability to develop remote relationships across functions and regions. Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in the US or abroad required; master’s degree, MBA or JD preferred.
