The candidate will be a member of the Corporate and Finance Group and provide support to the firm’s Private Clients Group, as well as its Family Office & Closely Held Business Group. Strong academic credentials with a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and an active member in good standing in Connecticut and/or New York Bar desired. Should preferably have 6+ years of professional experience advising affluent individuals and families, their trusts, closely-held businesses, investment entities and foundations, and/or other public or private enterprises and charitable organizations with respect to a broad range of tax planning matters and transactions. Must have some level of portable business. Strong experience advising on tax structuring for mergers, acquisitions, and other business combinations and divestitures, as well as corporate taxation at the federal, state, and local levels desired. Strong experience with private client tax services, including personal income taxation, trust taxation, estate, and gift taxation, charitable taxation, flow-through entities, and partnership taxation preferred. Must have strong analytical skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to research, interpret and articulate complex tax law. Superior client service skills with the ability to develop, maintain and grow outstanding client relationships required. Partners, Counsel, and Senior Associates are encouraged to apply.
