Make the Change Now and Join our Team. Our established Dupage/Chicago Insurance Defense law firm seeks a self-starter legal secretary to handle civil litigation in our beautiful Chicago office. Minimum of 2-3 years' experience required. The ideal candidate is an organized, self-starter who is detail-oriented, experienced in civil litigation, and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word software.
Your responsibilities include:
Work as a valued member of our team of lawyers, paralegals, and secretaries;
Prepare pleadings and have command of electronic filing rules;
Prepare written discovery for answering and filing;
Docket court orders and deadlines and monitor for compliance;
Assist your assigned attorneys;
Schedule, notice, and manage depositions;
Prepare subpoenas for witnesses and records, and manage response status for same;
Assist with trial preparation, including organization of witness materials and preparation of physical and electronic exhibits; and
General file monitoring and progression.
We offer an excellent benefits package, PTO, & special Friday work hours. At present, we are on a 3/2 work from the office/home schedule.
