Job Overview:
A reputable law firm located in Miami, Florida is currently seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its expanding legal team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a licensed attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience to take on meaningful work, manage a diverse caseload, and grow within a firm that values professional development and client advocacy. The attorney will work closely with a team of experienced legal professionals and report directly to the Senior Associate Attorney.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals for both detained and non-detained matters

  • Provide strategic legal consultations and explain complex immigration concepts to clients

  • Manage and advance an active caseload with attention to detail and deadlines

  • Visit detention facilities for client intakes and case preparation

  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense

  • Review legal documentation and client packets to ensure completeness and accuracy

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony at USCIS interviews and immigration court hearings

  • Draft legal briefs and supporting documents for various immigration cases

  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration matters and updates

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law

  • Ability to manage a caseload and effectively move cases forward

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

  • Familiarity with EOIR, USCIS applications, family-based immigration, detained and humanitarian cases, and naturalization

  • Experience using case management software preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Legal research and drafting

  • Courtroom advocacy and oral presentation

  • Strategic case planning and execution

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Clear and compassionate client communication
