Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Evictions Associate Attorney in Tukwila, WA. The attorney will manage a caseload across Oregon and Washington, working with the evictions support staff. The ideal candidate is licensed to practice in both states or has at least one year of active practice. Experience in eviction law or related fields is preferred, with jury trial experience being a significant advantage.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of eviction cases in Oregon and Washington.
• Attend court hearings and prepare necessary documentation.
• Draft civil litigation documents and client correspondence.
• Stay informed on landlord and tenant laws and ordinances.
• Communicate directly with clients and manage caseloads.
• Write and edit reports, opinions, and client notifications.

Requirements

• Active membership in OR or WA State Bars, in good standing.
• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in landlord/tenant evictions.
• Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in internet research, including WestLaw and/or LexisNexis.
