A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join their team in Chicago, IL.

Job Overview: The Patent Agent will be crucial in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, collaborating with inventors to assess patentability, conducting prior art searches, and staying updated on AI technology and patent laws.

Job Duties:

• Drafting and prosecuting patent applications
• Collaborating with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability
• Conducting and analyzing the results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses
• Maintaining knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws to assist internal and external stakeholders
• Liaising with clients to develop and manage portfolios

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning required
• Experience with AI/ML theory (e.g., backpropagation, regularization, optimization), preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred
• Registered to practice with the USPTO
• Active member and in good standing of IL Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar
