Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Associate in New York. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of patent litigation experience and will work closely with partners across the U.S. This role involves significant client contact and responsibility for a variety of IP-related work.

Duties

• Litigate patents, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition in federal courts and before the USITC.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, appellate briefs, and correspondence with counsel.
• Collaborate with experts and assist in preparing reports.
• Manage discovery in litigation, including document and written discovery, and depositions.
• Prepare for and assist with trials and administrative hearings.
• Engage in dispute settlement strategies, including mediation.
• Conduct and assist in PTAB proceedings and ITC matters.
• Conduct and manage legal research and writing.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of litigation experience required.
• Strong academic credentials required.
• Experience in patent and ITC litigation preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of hire and in good standing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Patent Bar preferred.
