A well-established law firm is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney to join its national data privacy and cybersecurity practice. This fully remote role provides an exceptional opportunity for an experienced attorney to lead complex incident response matters, advise clients through data breaches, and help shape legal strategies related to data privacy laws. Ideal for candidates with significant experience in cybersecurity incident response, regulatory engagement, and client counseling.

Lead incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents
Serve as primary contact for clients and carriers during breach events
Oversee breach response tasks completed by associate attorneys
Interface with senior management and technical teams at client organizations
Analyze domestic and international privacy regulations (HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, etc.)
Draft and review legal notices of data breaches to individuals and regulators
Respond to investigations initiated by state and federal regulators
Defend clients in privacy-related litigation
Draft internal privacy/security policies for clients
Triage incidents and guide clients through each stage of breach response
Oversee digital forensic investigations and collaborate with cybersecurity vendors
Supervise third-party vendors for discovery and data processing tasks
Draft regulatory notification letters and crisis communication statements
Prepare case assessments and legal reports for clients and insurers
Develop and manage legal budgets
Mentor and supervise junior team members
Minimum 7 years of legal experience
At least 7 years of direct experience in data privacy and security law, including data breach response
Substantial knowledge of federal, state, and international data protection laws
Demonstrated experience leading incident response cases from start to finish
Litigation experience preferred but not required
Experience working with clients in high-pressure situations
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar membership in good standing (Louisiana or eligible for reciprocal admission)
Deep familiarity with legal frameworks such as HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR
Strong legal writing and research capabilities (LexisNexis, Westlaw)
Technical aptitude or experience in IT, cybersecurity, or digital forensics (preferred)
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong organizational and case management skills
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
