Workers Compensation Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm in Richmond, VA is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate must have strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills for the workers’ compensation or liability group. Virginia Bar admission is required. Experience handling all phases of workers’ compensation litigation including pretrial motions, depositions, expert witnesses, and trial preparation is necessary, with some civil litigation experience being a plus.

Duties:

• Handle all phases of workers’ compensation litigation including pretrial motions, depositions, expert witnesses, and trial preparation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Assist with civil litigation matters as needed.
• Attend hearings and court appearances on behalf of clients.

Requirements:

• Virginia Bar admission.
• 1-5 years of legal experience.
• Strong academic credentials.

Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills.
