A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team in Niles or St. Joseph, Michigan. Duties
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support proceedings.
- Prepare for and represent clients in litigation, including trials and hearings.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Take and defend depositions and work with expert witnesses.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys.
- Maintain communication with clients and attorneys regarding case developments.
- Provide legal counsel and develop case strategies tailored to clients' needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Admitted to practice law in Michigan or eligible for admission.
- Experience in family law and/or commercial litigation.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.
Skills
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage case files and deadlines efficiently.
- Proficient in legal practice management systems.
