A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team in Niles or St. Joseph, Michigan. Duties

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support proceedings.
• Prepare for and represent clients in litigation, including trials and hearings.
• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
• Take and defend depositions and work with expert witnesses.
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys.
• Maintain communication with clients and attorneys regarding case developments.
• Provide legal counsel and develop case strategies tailored to clients' needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Admitted to practice law in Michigan or eligible for admission.
• Experience in family law and/or commercial litigation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage case files and deadlines efficiently.
• Proficient in legal practice management systems.
