Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Houston, TX is seeking a dedicated Environmental Associate Attorney to support its expanding practice in environmental regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex issues involving environmental law, contributing to a collaborative team known for its high standards and legal acumen.

Duties:

• Advise clients on federal, state, and local environmental regulations

• Handle matters involving environmental permitting, compliance, and enforcement

• Assist with transactional due diligence and risk assessment related to environmental concerns

• Support litigation teams on environmental disputes, including administrative proceedings and civil litigation

• Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and correspondence on environmental law topics

• Collaborate with internal teams across offices for comprehensive client representation

Requirements:

• 2-6 years of prior experience in environmental regulatory, litigation, or transactional matters

• Demonstrated ability to handle legal research and drafting independently

• Proven capability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines

• Strong verbal communication and analytical skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Academic performance in the top 25% of the class

Certifications:

• Admission to at least one U.S. state bar (Texas preferred or willingness to obtain)

Skills:

• Proficiency in analyzing environmental statutes and regulations

• Excellent legal writing and research skills
