Paralegal I
The candidate will provide critical support to Legal department. Strong candidates will have experience meeting deadlines, collecting information, scheduling, drafting written communications, and maintaining confidentiality. Provides support in processing NEOC/EEOC cases, including drafting responses, calendaring deadlines for responses, initiating investigations, gathering exhibits from various sources, scheduling interviews, preparing witnesses, and notifying programs of the determinations. This position tracks deadlines for responses under the applicable state claims act; identifies program staff for investigation and authorization purposes; investigates claims and requests relevant documentation; discusses proposed responses with the attorney when a legal question or issue is identified; and drafts recommendations or response letters and forwards to the Attorney for final approval. Should have associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
