A law firm based in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a driven and experienced Immigration Associate Attorney to join its legal team. Advocate for clients in both detained and non-detained settings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct client consultations to assess immigration options and develop legal strategies
Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian relief requests
Draft and submit legal briefs, motions, and supporting documents for immigration proceedings
Conduct visits and intake interviews with detained individuals at designated facilities
Work closely with legal assistants and fellow attorneys to manage deadlines and filings
Review and finalize immigration packets for accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and nonprofit organizations on immigration issues
Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before courts and immigration authorities
Maintain detailed case notes using case management software
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law
Proven ability to independently handle a full caseload
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Willingness to collaborate across departments and provide strategic input
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
Familiarity with a wide range of immigration matters, including EOIR, USCIS, citizenship, and humanitarian claims
Comfortable visiting detention centers and working with vulnerable populations
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
Good standing with a state bar (Arizona preferred)
Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Strategic thinker with a client-first approach
High emotional intelligence and interpersonal sensitivity
Proficient in immigration case management systems (experience preferred but not required)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
