Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their downtown Houston, TX office. This position is open to both on-track and off-track candidates, including those seeking a reduced hour schedule. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

Duties

• Assist clients across various industries in distressed financial situations.
• Represent clients in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies, including complex cases.
• Handle complex workouts and restructurings.
• Review client documents and advise on asset protection.
• Assist with case preparation, legal research, and courtroom support.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Communicate with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, and Debtors' Attorneys.
• Attend creditor meetings and court hearings.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in Texas.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and a critical thinker.
• Excellent business judgment and professionalism.
• Strong academic credentials and writing skills.
• Ability to interact with clients and develop relationships.
• Track record of high achievement and teamwork.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
